LUX MED Group is strengthening its presence in Lower Silesia, continuing the Company’s hospital segment development strategy. The agreement under which Orthos, the local market-leading multi-specialist hospital, became part of the Group was signed on 11 July 2023. It is already the 15th hospital operating within LUX MED structures.
Orthos is a hospital in Komorowice near Wroclaw, providing a wide range of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services. The hospital provides treatments in the fields of, among others, orthopaedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system, plastic surgery, general and oncological surgery, gynaecology, laryngology and neurosurgery. Orthos’ specialists provide advice in the areas of orthopaedics, rehabilitation, ENT, general and oncological surgery, pain management, neurosurgery, geriatrics, sports medicine and preluxation, among others. The facility has a modern operating theatre, comfortable patient rooms (more than 50 beds in total) and a well-equipped rehabilitation department.
Approximately 230 employees have joined the Group, including 100 specialist doctors.
Last year, LUX MED launched a hospital insurance policy offer, whose infrastructure facilities consist of the Group’s own hospitals and dozens of cooperating hospitals. The offer includes medical assistance for elective and emergency procedures, supported in this area by the function of Hospital Care Coordinators and, launched as part of St Elisabeth’s Hospital in Warsaw and Swissmed Hospital in Gdansk, Emergency Departments. The acquisition of Orthos Hospital is another acquisition by the company in the area of hospital care over the past several months. In April last year, Med Polonia from Poznań joined the Group.
