• VCP acted as a buy-side advisor to Mid Europa Partners on the acquisition of Sage Poland, a leader in cloud-based business management solutions for Polish SMEs
• Sage Group has decided to sell its Polish business operating under the well-known Symfonia brand at the end of 2020 as it is deemed to be outside of Sage’s core strategic focus
• Sage Poland was looking for a strong and highly reputable investor who will enable the company to realize its ambitious plans
• Mid Europa Partners will support Symfonia’s management team in the execution of future strategic initiatives, including new product development and the expansion of its cloud offering
• The sale process was run as a limited auction and approach was made to selected strategic players and financial investors
• VCP supported Mid Europa Partners in understanding of competitive landscape of the transaction and developing deal tactics, as well as preliminary analysis of potential add-on targets
• The transaction was signed in December 2020 and is subject to approval by the Polish antitrust regulator UOKiK.
• The deal is expected to complete in Q1 2021
